Customizing your dashboard


You can view your available customization options on the toolbar at the top of the Dashboard Builder. All these options, except for DashboardTab options, and Dashboard title, are initially collapsed. 

You can customize the following areas of your dashboard:


Tabs and widgets contain the most customization options. You can customize the title in Dashboard title and access additional options in Dashboard. Dashboard contains options for the overall formatting of the dashboard, including widgets and tabs. 

To customize your dashboard
  • Select either Dashboard or Dashboard title, depending on which area you would like to customize. 

Most of the options in Dashboard are for building and publishing your dashboard. Only the last four are customization options. 

Below are the available options from left to right:
  • Paint format applies widget formatting throughout your dashboard. 
  • Paint size applies formatting to a selected area of your dashboard. 
  • Hide the outline of the tab bar
  • Duplicate dashboard

The Dashboard title option contains customization options specifically for your dashboard title. 

The following are the available options from left to right:
  • Background color
  • Text color
  • Text size
  • Title box size
  • Title width
  • Image. You can select an image from your computer, Web search, via URL, Google drive, Dropbox, or Box. A remove image icon will appear after.

Below is an example of a customized title.


Every object you add to a dashboard exists as a widget. You can customize a widget's header or a widget's formatting.

To customize your widgets

  1. Select the widget you would like to customize.
  2. Select either Widget options or Widget header.

Widget header

Below are the available widget header options from left to right:
  • Fill color
  • Text color
  • Text size
  • Bold/Italic/Underline
  • Left-justify/center/right-justify

Widget formatting

In addition to the header, you can edit other widget formatting. You can customize widget formatting by opening Widget options.

Below are the available widget formatting options from left to right:

  • Show/Hide header
  • Header size
  • Widget border color
  • Hide border
  • Round edges
  • Widget position. This includes the width and height of the widget as well as its location on the dashboard. 
  • Background color
  • Hide loading icon

To customize your tabs
  1. Select the tab you would like to customize. 
  2. Click Tab options on the toolbar. 

Below are the available tab options from left to right. 

  • Fit to one screen. By default, your tabs will be sized around queries. If you deselect the fit to one screen option, you will be able to enter custom sizes in the tab dimension menu. 
  • Automatically reorganize widgets. BIME will reorganize your widgets to fill the entire tab. Before you reorganize widgets, a warning dialog will appear to confirm your selection. 
  • Tab dimension. This will only appear if you have deselected the fit to one screen option. Here, you can enter custom dimensions for your tab. 

  • Interaction options.
  • Export options. You can select the permitted formats for the tab when the dashboard is exported. 
  • Slide options. If your widgets overlap, you can edit widget positions, so they appear in front or in back. 
  • Tab fill color and Tab font color
  • Duplicate. Create an exact copy of your tab in the current dashboard or another dashboard. All widgets on the tab will be duplicated as well.
