Studio user and named viewer term changes

Recently, BIME has made changes to the naming conventions for studio users and named viewers. Studio users are now referred to as editors. Named viewers and dashboard viewers are now referred to as viewers.

What's changing?

The terms are the only thing that will change in your BIME account. Your users who were studio users will become editors, and your users who were dashboard viewers will become viewers. You will see these new terms in BIME and in the documentation. The locations to access your editors and viewers are the same as before and no icons or permissions have changed.

Why is this changing?

These new terms help increase the simplicity of BIME and allows new users to easily interpret permissions.

Will there be more term changes?

The other recent terminology changes in BIME were related to minor capitalization and spelling consistency issues. It is possible that more term changes will occur in the future. You can subscribe to this section to ensure that you are notified of these changes.

Where can I see how all of BIME's terms are spelled?

You can check out BIME's style guide. The style guide is consistently updated with any changes.
